The Department of Sociology invites applications for an
anticipated tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant
Professor in the area of Rural Sociology.  We are looking for a
person with an exceptionally strong research background; that
person's specialization should relate to and extend our research
on labor market areas (e.g. community development).  The position
is to begin August 1996, pending final approval.  Ph.D. or
equivalent degree in Sociology is required.  Review of
