If you want to look at more general theory, though, you might want to try _Frontiers in Social Movement Theory_, a volume edited by Morris and Mueller that presents various strands of resource mobilization theory and research. RM has been/was the big American soc. mvmt. theory for a long time. For information on the most prominent challenger, new social movements theory, see _Nomads of the Present_ by Alberto Melucci or anything by Alain Touraine.
