Don't much care (no offense). You ask why people are hesitant to question this student of sociology (and yes, we are all students of sociology) but you are talking about questioning the material in his "lecture". Up to this time only a couple of people have actually responded to his writing. This discussion tonight is different. This discussion seems to focus on whether TR Young has a right to post his sociological lectures to the list. Granted the tone of the material does not lend itself to dialog, but as far as I'm concerned he has the right to continue posting. Don't criticize him for posting. If you want dialog, start some. Sooo....Anybody read the special issue of Sociological Forum on "What is Wrong with Sociology"? I think Molotch's piece is a beauty. The last article in the issue is also good.
