But there already IS a software discussion group on line!  It is called
qual-software@mailbase.ac.uk
and can be subscribed to through
mailbase@mailbase.ac.uk

Most of the developers of the various softwares are on it and participate,
and it holds broader discussions of the merits as well.  Let's not reinvent
the wheel!
