Hi, everyone.  THis looks like a pretty hip list.
I'm kind of curious about the PhD requirements
at other schools (I'm at Kent State) We are required to take a number
 of specific courses regardless  of their applicability to
our areas of interest.  This is especially true in the
methods sequences  where Multivartiate analysis is a
required course.  Since I do not use statisitcs (see Nietzsche's beyond
good and evil for a good explaintionas to why). I find taking this course
to be a complete waste of time. I'm not interested in people telling me
that I need this skill to be a "good Sociologist" since it's pretty
clear  to me that this isn't true.  What are the rest of you required
to take? By the way, does this list have a faq file?
