I am hoping someone out there at Kent State might send me a bit of anecdotal information on the memorial to the events of May 4, 1970. Is there much awareness of those events? Are you familiar with the commemorative sculpture by George Segal that was rejected by the administration in 1978 and now resides on the Princeton Campus? I know a competition was held for a "more appropriate" memorial in 1986. I have drawings of the winner. Was it built? What is it like? Can you relate any encounters with it? I'm just curious about what sort of presence it has in campus life. Replies to my address are appreciated. Thanks Marshall Battani mabattani@ucdavis.edu
