I was puzzled by that also. I know that the novelty wears off of many of these networks, that many people want to mainly focus their time on real people and real journals, rather than virtual chatting, but REVS membership is still over 400, and with all the events going on, especially in West and Central Asia and in Africa, one might have thought that there would be more postings. He sent me a listing of the messages that went through REVS-CAFE. I never saw most of them. I finally realized that a number of people are sending their messages to REVS-CAFE rather than REVS. So here's an explanation of how to MAXIMIZE your audience: If someone posts to REVS-CAFE, it ONLY goes to the members of REVS-CAFE, (several dozen) rather than the whole REVS list (over 400). If someone posts to REVS, it also automatically goes to the REVS-CAFE list as well as to me. If I approve it (I approve almost everything....), then it also goes out to the REVS list as a whole. So for maximum audience, send your note to REVS, rather than REVS CAFE. To receive the maximum number of messages, subscribe to REVS-CAFE. If you'd prefer to have me moderate (slightly) to screen out messages that don't fit in with REVS focus, then subscribe to REVS. But whichever you subscribe to, send your messages to REVS@csf.colorado.edu. Thanks, Alan Spector REVS Manager/Editor Incidentally, one of my students just got sent to Bosnia for 9 months. I don't think it's all over.......
