Hello All,
It is nice to see this list reawakening.  I am a grad student at
University of Colorado at Boulder studying demography--particularly aging,
health, and mortality.  My dissertation focus has been on class
differences in health behaviors in the U.S., which I am trying to
understand using Marxist theory and modern consumer theories. 

Several of us here in Boulder who are interested in demographic issues
started this list with the hopes of attracting others who would be
interested in discussing new approaches to demography--new theories, new
applications of old theories, new methods.  

A question for Thomas Smucker,
What is it about the demographic transition that interests you?  Can you
tell us more about your research?
