Dear readers,

At the University of Cuenca in Ecuador we are setting up a postgraduate 
course on "Population and Local Sustainable Development". The actual 
classes will start in 1997. At the moment we are working hard on the 
curriculum.

In this sense we are trying to complete our bibliography. Therefore 
we would welcome all suggestions on recent literature concerning the 
links between population, environment and sustainable development. 
Especially references of literature outside the neo-Malthusian 
paradigm would be very appreciated.

If anyone of you does have some suggestions, we'll be very grateful 
to receive them.
