This position is as Branch Chief and may be filled through an announcement that is open until December 12, 1997. The Branch Chief is responsible for contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Institute's extramural research grant's program; for organizing and managing the peer review of applications; for insuring the integrity of the peer review process; for planning and conducting scientific review group (SRG) meetings; for participating with other OEPR management staff in planning office activities; and for supervising professional, technical, and support personnel within the Branch. In addition, the Chief serves as an expert in areas of the social and behavioral sciences, which involves participating in Institute planning activities and advising other personnel. Applicants should have expertise in an area or areas of social and behavioral science (such as social psychology, sociology, organizational behavior, health services research, applied epidemiology, clinical psychology, or psychiatric research) applicable to drug abuse research. The position will be filled at the GS-15 level with a salary range from $77, 798 to $101, 142.
