'Sociological Perspectives on the New Genetics' has been identified as a suitable them and we should particularly like to hear from those working in the area with an interest in: - The structure and production of genetic knowledge - The social meanings of genetics - The social impact of genetics - The implications of the new genetics Potential contributors from North America and Australasia should send and outline proposal of between 250 and 500 words to: Peter Conrad, Department of Sociology, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, 02254-9110, USA. Potential contributors from Europe should send their outline proposal by the same date to Jonathan Gabe, Department of Social Policy and Social Science, Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham, TW20 0EX, United Kingdom by November 30, 1997, All those responding to this call will be informed of the outcome within six weeks. Those invited to write for the monograph will be asked to submit manuscripts of between 6,500-7,000 words by July 1998 so that they can be refereed in the normal way.
