In addition, I remember an earlier similar request that one of our colleagues checked out with the ACS and they said they were not sponsors of these messages and did not solicit donations in this fashion. So I think we need to be careful with these kinds of messages; as heart-rendering as they may be, it may not be an appropriate use of our list or even email in general. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows more about these issues. Peter Conrad
