My father was an Spaniard, and unfortunally I dind learn my mother's costums, rather they teach me my father religion and costums, because they were afraid of descrimination, do who ever want to descriminate just because i speak Spanish and go to the Catholic church won't stop them. but i'm proud Boruca and I want everyone to know that. Boruca is the name of the union of two tribes Bri-bri and Guaynin. Now I have a request to ask. The Leo R. Dowling International center is planning an eleven hour celebration centering around what is mean to be an american. Emphasis will be given to various indigenous people of the Americas and their 500 years struggle for recognition and respect from the white eurocentric majority. If you have ideas or suggestions concerning our celebration please do not hesitate to contact me via E-mail. dsoto@iubacs.Bitnet the celebration will be Oct. 12 day of the proud Indigenous. Thank you, and please forgive me if my English still not quit right. Daniel Soto Mayorga
