Gay Lesbian University/Seattle - GLU  offers adult 
community education classes for Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, 
Transgenders, PWA's, and of course all of our friends. 
The concept of GLU is loosely based on the notion of 
Experimental type Colleges around the world.
   
WHO TEACHES
"Classes" at GLU/Seattle are taught by people like yourself 
with skills and information willing to share with others 
interested in learning. From "A" to "Z" some of the offerings 
include, art courses, business, computers, kayaking, men, 
organizing, politics, self help, women and or you name it. 
Only the creativity of the individual is the limitation.
  
WHY GLU
There  are many reasons for starting such a institution 
according to Tom Hicksfounder of GLU. "In the past I 
attempted to offer classes through the experimental College at 
a local school's experimental college and was turned down. 
I figured the UW does not have a monopoly on this educational 
approach.  Lesbians and gays are an extremely talented group 
of people with a wealth of diverse knowledge waiting to be 
unleashed."
     
GLU offers an excellent opportunity for people in the 
"GLAIDS" - Gay Lesbian AIDS communities & others, to share 
information and skills at the same time making the community a 
stronger and healthier place.  GLU classes are also a great 
way to meet people with like interests, and strengthen ones own 
support system. Whether  you have an interest is something like 
silk screening or self help work, there are others out there with
some of the same enthusiasms.
