GAY LESBIAN UNIVERSITY K N O W L E D G E = E M P O W E R M E N T GLU Extension Course News "Creating & Maintaining GLUs" GLU Activities Like any school GLU has used its imagination and created several opportunities for students and non students alike. Spotlight series GLU does attempt to find at least one person place or thing that would be interested in offering a "lecture presentation event at GLU. So far GLU has had the Steven Farmer Defense Fund and the League of Lesbian and Gay Prisoners do the January event. Then in February the organization called EarthSave Seattle was spotlighted. It did a presentation entitled "Food For Thought" dealing with eating for personnel and planetary health. March spotlight will focus on Libertarianism and its effect upon the Lesbian, Gay and other movements. April will feature Racism workshops and Queer Nation workshops on the new right initiative and how to fight back effectively. The spotlight series do not require any GLU tuition and is open to the public. GLU/Seattle also offers a mini club called NERDS. The purpose of NERDS is to offer uses of high technology to gather and discuss and network. Presentations of computer technology, video, networking concepts etc are covered. Potlucks have been sponsored. Many other events of these and other types will be undertaken in the future.
