             ACTION ALERT -- APRIL 2, 1993

       IT'S WORKING -- OUR VOICES ARE BEING HEARD!

We are succeeding in what we set out to do.  Imagine that!! 
With all of your help, we will be able to out organize our
opposition.  Our message is getting out.  We filled the
hearing room; we flooded the Hill with calls; we were able
to generate numerous postcards and letters.  Thanks go to
all of you who have participated (so far!) in this important
campaign.

At this time what we must do is quantify all of our efforts
so that we are able to measure our strength.  We would
greatly appreciate it if you would -- if you haven't done so
already -- send us a short email, letting us know which
legislators you called or wrote to.  Any other information
you want to volunteer about events in your area, local
groups who want to get involved, etc., would be most
welcome.

If you have not yet made your phone calls or written your
letters, you'll find the names/addresses/phone numbers of
targeted legislators available via ftp to the QRD directory
(contact Ron Buckmire at buckmr@rpi.edu) or to the GLU
directory (contact Tom Hicks at tomh@halcyon.com).

Despite all our success, we must still continue our efforts. 
The recess is just around the corner.  Continue all that you
have done, and remember: DON'T LET UP!  THE FIGHT CONTINUES!
