A COMMITTEE OF PLATONIC PHILOSOPHERS London, December 18, 1994 "Hitherto philosophers have interpreted the world in various ways, the question however is to change it." (Karl Marx, The XIV Theses on Ludwig Feuerbach - Thesis XI). At this moment in time, the International Committee of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement (RIM) continues stubbornly to procrastinate in taking sides against the reactionary fraud of the Fujimori regime and its accomplices, the turncoats headed by the 'individual in Sweden'. Moreover, they anonymously continue to circulate the propaganda of the fascist regime and are demanding that the Maoists of the world should study these documents in complete secrecy. They say: 'this document is not to appear in any public or semi-public form'. The time has come to speak out clearly to these gentlemen. The Marxist-Leninist-Maoist, Gonzalo Thought red fraction, is not prepared to allow them to get away with such a lame excuse that clearly reveals the most callous opportunism. There is no way that the red fraction would give up on its task of unmasking the Right opportunist line that they are developing. What are these people afraid of?. They say they fear the reactionaries may use these polemics for their own propaganda. If this is so, the only thing they have to do is heed what the Maoists masses are demanding: CONDEMN THE TRAITORS!. Then, there would be immediate unity and reaction will be thwarted. It is about time these bureaucrats should stop sucking their thumbs and dodging their obligations. The role of leaders is to lead, not to trail behind the masses. Marxism-Leninism-Maoism is not a 'telescope' nor a 'microscope' for mad scientists locked up in their ivory towers. The proletarian ideology is not a toy rattle for soothing the complaints of the oppressed. Marxism-Leninism-Maoism is A GUIDE FOR REVOLUTIONARY ACTION OF THE PROLETARIAT. Is it not true that the Communist Party of Peru, the Communist Party of Turkey M-L, the United People's Front of Nepal, and all the authentic organisms of the international proletariat in the five continents have taken up clear position in condemning the traitors and continue to do so?. What possible use are leaders that are deaf to the demands of the masses? Do not these people realize that they are turning the RIM into the laughing-stock of the International Communist Movement? In accordance with Maoist principles, Committee Sol Peru - London has persisted in this debate in a principled, open and massive manner, and will continue to do so. However, in all seriousness, we remind these bureaucrats of what we said in our document "Maoism and the Two Line Struggle Within the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement (RIM)" : Those who would act otherwise, shall be considered as die-hard elements, 'individuals like Trotsky and Chen Tu-hsiu'. (This document is available from us in English and Spanish by mail or fax order). Many comrades think it necessary to reorganise the RIM. They think it is imperative to apply the Maoist policy of 'fewer but better troops and a more efficient administration' to the RIM. In synthesis, they think that the movement should be rid of those die-hard elements that are playing along with the RCP-USA and Robert Avakian. To date, the attitude of the International Committee of the RIM, is proving these comrades right. We, for our part, still advocate the widest principled unity, but under no circumstances would we ignore the voice of the masses. To achieve a principled unity the IC of the RIM should clearly take the side of the revolutionary line and carry out self-criticism of their own centrist positions. However, these minimum conditions for unity are necessarily limited in time. The more the 'platonic philosophers' of the International Committee of the RIM procrastinate, equivocate and dither, the greater will be the demands for a total reorganization of the Movement - that is, the revolutionaries will be indeed united, but this unity would certainly proceed against the gentlemen of the IC of the RIM!.
