American Coalition Of Life Activists

     The ACLA is a direct result of the split within the "rescue"
movement that surfaced in April 1994, after their inability to
resolve the issue of the use of lethal force or "justifiable
homicide", as a TACTIC to destroy abortion access. This debate
had been brewing for some time and knowledge of the anti's
meeting at Chicago's Radisson Hotel, became public knowledge
after the assassination of Dr. Britton and James Barrett in
Pensacola last July 29.
     There were hints of the split earlier, when Rev. Keith Tucci
resigned as Director of Operation Rescue National in February
1994, and Rev. Flip Benham was installed in his place. The "use
of force" debate was also a central component of this meeting as
well. Prominent leaders of the "rescue" movement, including
Joseph Foreman of Missionaries to the Preborn and Jeff White,
Director of Operation Rescue of California, publicly disagreed
with the Tucci/Benham faction. Both individuals are currently
"excluded" from ORN by current Director, Flip Benham.
     The ACLA is the public front of the Defensive Action
"network." Organizational support has been extended to Andrew
Burnett and Joseph Foreman, apparent co-directors, by: C. Roy

Advocate Editor & Co-Editor, Paul DeParrie & Cathy Ramey; Regina
Dinwiddie, Wichita Rescue Movement/Rescue Radio. The majority of
ACLA supporters are Defensive Action endorsers.
