LQUIZ: LATIN QUIZ ================= What is LQUIZ? LQUIZ is a program that attempts to drill you in Latin verbs, nouns and pronouns [read the manual pages in 'lquiz.man' for more details] *** Note that this is only supported on UNIX systems with Perl. *** How do I install LQUIZ? Easy! Just copy the following files into a directory: Filename Brief description ------------------------------------------------------ README This file CHANGES List of changes in latest version How_to_get_perl How to obtain Perl clues nouns.dict Nouns Dictionary Latin_phrases.pl Latin phrases database lquiz.man Manual page verbs.dict Verbs Dictionary COPYING GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE lquiz The Quiz Program itself patterns.pl Declensions/Conjugations database Make sure you have PERL installed on your system. Note the pathname of the perl executable and set this in the lquiz file. The first line of the lquiz file is set to: #! /usr/local/bin/perl change this to point to perl on your system. Also set read and execute permissions on the lquiz program so that you can run it (others just need read permission). For example by: chmod 755 lquiz Now just type "lquiz" (or supply any required switches) to start. [see man page again] If you wish you can extend LQUIZ's dictionary by adding nouns to the file called 'nouns.dict' and verbs to 'verbs.dict'. See the comments at the beginning of the aforementioned files for the required formats. As always, I would love to hear about bugs/changes/enhancements/requests.
