A HYPE-FREE GUIDE TO THE WEB

I have been browsing the Web for a few months now, and I am continually amazed and depressed at how much awful, worthless stuff is out there.  This seems to be a common problem; hence the "cool links" that every home page has to try and convince you that there is "cool" stuff out there.  But, I think a more practical way to go beyond these lists is to have an up-to-date report on what there is on the web, what is good, and how to find things you want.  This is what I was trying to achieve with The Sober Witness.

This is the first issue.  Have a look, and tell me what you think.  I would like to make the next issue even larger and slicker, so submissions are welcome.

Only Mac (or unix) users should download this issue, since the link names are not PC friendly.  Simply use Netscape ( or whatever ) to view it.  If you want to read it online,  it can be accessed at:
