Because she has been literally SWAMPED with calls asking about Morrissey, PLEASE don't call her if you have been. I will see what is going on and let you all know as soon as I hear ANYTHING. Apparenly there should be some info soon, but I don't know "How Soon Is Now." :) 1. July 28 "Your Arsenal" LP is released in the US. Many stores are planning to have midnight sales the night before, so call you local record store and find out if that is the case. 2. August 25 BOTH the US CD 12" for the song "Tomorrow" as well as the CD 12" for "This Charming Man" are released in the US. Sire is pretty sure that all 4 mixes of that single will be released, as well as the two original b-sides "Wonderful Woman" and "Accept Yourself". 3. September 1 The Smiths Greatest Hits CD comes out. I don't know offhand what songs will be on it (well, "This Charming Man" of course), or what it will be called. 4. MORRISSEY TOUR INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Morrissey DID play a concert in Paris on July 4, and a festival in Switzer- land on July 6. I am told he played a few "new" songs - "Such A Little Thing..." and "Girl Least Likely To," as well as some songs off the new LP. I should be getting a bootleg of the Swiss show, I will review it when I get it. Sire says Morrissey has made no solid plans, and as it goes with Him, he winds up changing them right up until the last minute. He is play- ing a festival (only 30 min set) August 8 and 9 in England, to help out his friends Madness who are headlining. Remeber, Madness singer backed up on "Piccadilly Palare" and "Get Off The Stage", and Madness bassist Bedders played on "Kill Uncle", and Madness producers Langer and Winstanley have done considerable work for Morrissey. I will let you know what happens, Ilene promises she'll let me know as soon as plans are finalized. 5. Morrissey is doing a promotional press tour of the US very soon. Unfortunately, he hasn't decided which cities to go to. He keeps cutting his list down, but LA, New York, and probably places like Chicago, SF Bay, Boston, and other large metro areas will see him if he actually makes it. Keep listening to your alternative radio stations for details, and I will get back to you about that when I get more. 6. Gallon Drunk is confirmed as Morrissey's opening act on his tour. They are supposedly very good, Sire just signed them. No LP out yet, and there are no hard plans to get one out before or even during the tour, but they have a considreable amount of material out in the UK from what I'm told. They have a mix of rockabilly/rock kind of sound. 7. Morrissey covered a song by the group Suede at one of his recent festival appearances. Suede's singer has been compared to both Morrissey and David Bowie, and Travis spotted Morrissey at a Suede concert in London recently with Murray (EMI President), Boz, and Boz's wife. Sounds interesting, huh? 8. "You're The One For Me, Fatty" came out on 10" vinyl in the UK just like the earlier single. "We Hate It..." was a limited pressing (# unknown), but is selling in some circles for $75-$125. The "...Fatty" single is even more rare, only 300 made supposedly, so get your copy fast if you can, they will quickly become collectors items. 9. No video planned for the "Tomorrow" single, but hopefully the demand of Morrissey fans will spur one. Unfortunately, "Tomorrow" has shades of the ????????????? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's the lyrics of the new US 12" a-side "Tomorrow", the last track of the upcoming "Your Arsenal" LP. I think its GREAT, absolutely worth buying the whole LP for. The song is upbeat, a bit lighter than "Girl Least Likely To" and a bit faster, and just GREAT, and I have been skeptical about Morrissey's new sound. Tomorrow Will it really come? And if it does come, will I still be human? All I ask of you is one thing that you'll never do Would you put your arms around me? I won't have anyone Tomorrow Does it have to come? All I ask of you is one thing that you'll never do Would you put your arms around me? I won't have anybody Tomorrow And what must come before? All of the pain in my arms All of the pain in my legs Through my shiftless body Tomorrow Its surely nearer now You don't think I'll make it I never said I wanted to Well did I? All of the pain in my arms All of the pain in my legs Oh yeah, oh yeah No yeah, no yeah Through my shiftless body Tomorrow Tomorrow All I ask of you... Is would you tell me that you love me? Tell me, tell me that you love me Tell me, tell me that you love me Tell me that you love me Oh, I know you don't mean it Oh, I know you don't mean it Oh tell me, oh tell me Oh tell me, oh tell me
