    The new indie by ORDAINED FATE is finally out! "Glimmer of
    Hope" (ironic title) is $13.00 to Ordained Fate, P.O. Box
    923, Zion, IL 60099..
    
    Elgin, IL will be the hot spot for Christian heavy music this
    weekend with CIRCLE OF DUST, THE BLAMED, LIVING SACRIFICE
    and ORDAINED FATE all in concert together on Sat Oct 7..
    
    SANCTIFY is a metal act from Finland just recently signed
    to Metal Crusade Records and will begin recording in 
    December.. Joey Daub (BELIEVER) was even asked to play
    drums on their upcoming album..
    
    What do GUARDIAN, JESUS FREAKS and TOWNE CRYER have in
    common?  They're all former California bands now living in

    And finally, a review of the Texas Rockfest this summer,
    from a rather unique perspective.. one of the band that
    played (COVENANT):
    
    Texas Rockfest, Marble Falls, TX
    
    The Texas Rockfest this year was a blast!  Those of you who
    didn't take the Fest seriously and didn't go, you totally
    missed out!  First of all, unlike some Fest in Illinois
    (we'll keep nameless to avoid hate mail), the Texas Rockfest
    admission was absolutely *free*!  Second, there were bands
    such as.. DISENCUMBRANCE, BEHEADED, GODFEAR, PURGE, SLAMCAT,
    (COVENANT) that shook the stage in the tiny unsuspecting town
    of Marble Falls, TX.  Where else could you swim in the cool
    Colorado River, play volleyball (a fairly lazy sport,
    perfect for musicians) and catch a slammin' metal show in the
    same day (by the way a special thanks to Arizona Ice Tea,
    the only sweet tea in Texas and what we lived on for three
    days.).  The absence of any big headliner this year meant
    the absence of unmerited Rock Star attitudes which meant a
    great time had by all, and great fellowship with musicians
    that have a common bond which is Jesus Christ.  ONE BAD PIG
    was there to add to the fun.  They pulled all their tricks,
    and did a great show that I'll remember for a long time 
    (Anybody that has ever seen The Pig knows what I'm talking
    about.).
    
    Bottom Line: A great three-day festival with terrific
    performances by some of the best quality bands in the
    underground, day and night, and with all this madness it
    still didn't cost me a dime to get in!  What more could
    you want?  If you missed out this year start making plans
    to be there next year.  You won't be disappointed!  C Ya
