First of all I'd like to mention that I think SOL needs more members. I think that with many different writers with many different writing styles and opinions SOL will be a much better group. I also want to mention that I am sort of embarressed about the sol application generator. If you wish to join SOL don't bother with that. Unless you want to. It's probably easier just to fill out the lameness evaluation form from earlier realeses of SOL. The application generator worked fine and was easy to use. The only problem was it wasn't very seriouse. In fact it was sort of dumb. Now that I look back I see so much that I want to change. First of all there is no reason to know a members real name. Don't bother filling that out. And there could be a couple dumb questions. But not as many as were put in. Once Celest Warrior makes some new ansis I will recompile the application genrator and hopefully it will be much better than the previous one. Well I guess I'll talk a little about SOL and my feelings about it in this issue. Not much has gone on with SOL. Celest Warrior has really been the only writer. I wrote one other issue besides this one. There have been conversations on several boards about SOL. Most people seem disappointed with it in some way or another. I was surprised by the amount of readers there were. Most of the peoples comments were seriouse and they explained there fealings toward SOL. We will hopefully try to correct all the problems mentioned. I guess if we listen to what the people have to say and make those changes then that could only help. As I stated above, one of the things we will start with is the application generator. If you noticed it hasn't been realesd with the latest issues. I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this but as I recently started to read the SOL files I noticed that many files were padded with blank lines and the dizzes sometimes had over a hundred blank lines in them. Most articles had the same problem. I went back and editted every file that had problems. I edited the dizzes that had problems and I even fixed a few of the spelling problems. I tried to make everything look nicer. I reziped everything up I know I will upload them to several FTP sites on the internet within the next few days. I will try to make sure that a list of sites were sol is available is listed in the next issue. First I have to see which sites except and keep them. Well basically I just wanted to mention that we will try to make SOL better. We will try to increase the quality of the articles and files included. We will try to do some other things besides write text files. And we will also try to make SOL available to more people. Any reccomendations for SOL will be appreciated. Just mail me (Retlor) or Celest Warrior on any boards that we are on. We will also try to get an internet address for SOL soon so people that don't call boards around here can still contact us.
