                       ¯Learning to Program®

        At my school they have several prerequsites to learn to program.
 These prerequsites are totally stupid. Read on and ye shall be enlighented.


        If you want to take Basic(yes basux) in my school you have to take 
 Computer Literacy. Now I believe that is one of the stupidest things on 
 the face of this earth. I mean If you know nothing about a computer why 
 would you want to learn to program one? You see that is not all the problem
 the problem is you see they put you in a class where you already know 100% 
 of the material, and the teacher has no clue about what it is he is tslking 
 about. I mean on the tests some of the multipule choise questions have all 
 the wrong answers and you don't have a choice of the correct anwser. They
 finnally removed that course last year.

        Secondly in my school if you want to learn to program in pascal
 the say you need to have taken Basic as a prerequset. Now this is so
 utterlly stupid. I mean Basic and Pascal are two totally diffrent 
 programing lanuages. My frien who has taken both courses in school 
 has forgoten everything he learned in Basux, so dosen't that tell you 
 that something is totaly diffrent about thoes two lanuages? I mean If one
 has just learned to program in Basic just the year before, and then goes on 
 to learn Pascal, and then proceads to forget what he learned the year
 before even though he has been programming for the whole summer has got to
 tell you something.


        So in conclusion if you want to learn to program while your still 
 in school here is a few steps to learn to program. Step 1 go to your
 school library. Step 2 Find a book on the lanuage you want to learn 
 to program in. Step 3 Go to the librarian's desk. Step 4 wipe out your
 student ID. Step 5 check the book out. Step 6 go home and D/L a decent
 complier from your favorite BBS. Step 7 open book and read it, but don't 
 forget to try out the examples, for it is through experiance with wich to 
 learn.
