FutureCulture is on on-line mailing list set up to discuss all the relevant
aspects of "technoculture" or "new edge" or "cyberculture" or whatever else
you want to call it.  These include, but are certainly not limited to:

cyberpunk (literary and cultural movements)
virtual reality
cyberspace
the computer underground
raves
nootropics or other drugs
music, movies, books, magazines that fit into the mold

Subscriptions are available in either real-time, digest, or FAQ only modes.
Real-time mode is nothing more than a mail reflector, meaning that as soon as
someone sends a message to the list, you will automatically receive that
message in your mailbox.  Digest mode means that you will receive one message
a day in a magazine-type format, which contains all the posts of the day.
FAQ-only mode means that every few months or so you will receive the
FutureCulture FAQ when it is updated.  For subscription information, see the
beginning of this file.

New subscribers to any of the available formats automatically receive the
FutureCulture FAQ/Resource-Guide, which can be used as a useful guide to some
of the topics discussed on the list.  The file is large, about 90k in length
at present time.  Every few months the faq is updated, and all subscribers
receive a new copy, regardless of subscription-format.

Discussion on the list often ranges from the mundane "gee-whiz", to deep
philosophical and scientific commentary.  For example, at one time the members
of the list were simultaneously discussing Bell's Theorem and "who we would
cast in Neuromancer if it becomes a movie".

Traffic usually averages somewhere between 0 and 20 messages a day.
