 For Immediate Release

The government of Paraguay is considering the extradition to 
Argentina of seven people suspected to have ties to the terrorist 
group Hizballah and who may be charged with bombings in Buenos 
Aires.  Some of the defendants are currently appealing the 
Paraguayan court decision to grant extradition.  We are not aware of 
any specific threat to U.S. citizens related to these possible 
extraditions.  However, groups sympathetic to the seven may 
nonetheless attempt to take revenge on U.S. citizens.  U.S. citizens 
contemplating travel to Paraguay may wish to consider this when 
making their plans and take such security precautions as they deem 
appropriate.
