While we have no specific information of a threat, the potential exists for retaliation by Kasi's sympathizers against American interests. United States Government installations abroad have been instructed to review their security precautions. American citizens residing or traveling abroad should pay close attention to their personal security practices in light of the potential threat. This supersedes the Public Announcement of November 14, 1997, on Mir Aimal Kasi (also spelled "Kansi"). This Public Announcement expires April 23, 1998. ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- The "travel-advisories@stolaf.edu" mailing list is the official Internet and BITNET distribution point for the U.S. State Department Travel Warnings and Consular Information Sheets.
