For Immediate Release

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City has advised its employees to use 
only taxis from authorized taxi stands "sitios" at the airport and 
throughout the city.  Several Embassy employees were recently 
abducted, assaulted, and robbed after hailing taxicabs in the 
streets of Mexico City.  Travelers may consult their hotels or local 
telephone directories for telephone numbers and locations of 
authorized taxi stands or the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City for 
further information.
