PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT-- KENYA

The Kenyan government has scheduled provincial elections in 
Kisauni, a coastal legislative district, south of Mombasa, for 
December 22.  Increased political activity in Kisauni has led to 
localized disturbances that have disrupted highway travel.  
Violence, looting, and other criminal activity have occurred.  These 
disturbances may continue through the election.  The U.S. Embassy in 
Nairobi states that Americans may wish to consider this information 
if traveling to the coastal area of Kenya.
