There will be information on every country by the end of 1992. The new system of Consular Information Sheets will cover every country in the world. If further info is needed, it is best to call the Citizens Emergency Center at 202-647-5225. There are officers there who can talk with you about travel to specific countries. They are also the people you would talk to about an emergency involving an American citizen overseas, i.e., locating a missing person, wiring money to a destitute traveler, assisting in returning a body to the U.S. in the event that the person died abroad, helping if a U.S. citizen was arrested abroad and in a foreign prison, etc. They don't have e-mail so you have to use the telephone. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT TELEPHONE NUMBERS: ---------------------------------------- Citizens Emergency Center: 202-647-5225 Citizens Consular Services: 202-647-3444 Passport Services (DC): 202-647-0518 Some cities also have numbers for passport info.
