------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - The Online Bible for Macintosh - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Introduction ------------ The Online Bible for Macintosh is a program designed to make Bible study easier and more productive. Modules for use with Online Bible include English Bible translations, Greek and Hebrew bibles, Commentaries, Study notes, Topical Indices, Bible Dictionaries, and other Bible study aids. Downloading ----------- All of the Online Bible files are stored in MacBinary format. You need to make sure that your web browser or ftp client is configured to recognize MacBinary files. Installation ------------ Once you've downloaded the OLB application and/or modules, you need to decode and unstuff the files (if your web browser/ftp client hasn't already done so for you). Just drag and drop the files you downloaded on Stuffit Expander 4.0 (or later). It will autmatically decode the MacBinary files and and unstuff the resulting Stuffit archives. Please note that versions of Stuffit Expander earlier than 4.0 WILL NOT WORK with MacBinary files. To used the disk image files, simply drag and drop them on ShrinkWrap. ShrinkWrap will mount the image files just like they were floppy disks, allowing you to install the software. Which Modules Should You Install? --------------------------------- At the absolute minimum, you'll need the Online Bible Program and one of the Bible modules. All the other modules are optional, though they are all recommended. The approximate amount of disk space needed by each module is listed in the index file 00_OLB_Index. Online Bible modules for the NIV, NRSV and other modern English translations of the Bible are available from the author. These modules are NOT free, as the texts they contain are still under copyright. See the Online Bible manual pricing and ordering information. The Online Bible CD-ROM ----------------------- The Online Bible CD-ROM contains all the modules found at this site, as well as other modules not available here. The CD-ROM comes in two versions: the Classic CD ($40) which contains over 300 meg of Bible texts and add-on modules. The Deluxe CD ($90) contains everything on the Classic CD plus the NIV, NASB, NKJV, and NRSV. Both CD-ROMS have all modules in both runtime and floppy disk image format. See the Online Bible Manual or the 00_OLB_CD-ROM file for ordering information. See the file 00_OLB_CD-ROM for a list of all the files on the CD-ROMs. Conclusion ---------- My goal is to have all the most up to date versions of the Online Bible program and modules at this FTP site.
