APPLE STRUDEL PHYLLO PIE Servings: 12 8 phyllo leaves 2 apples, pared and diced 1/4 c. raisins 1/2 c. unsalted butter, melted 1/4 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs 1/4 c. brown sugar powdered sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon Combine apple, raisins, nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon, set aside. Layer leaves on a damp towel, brushing each with butter and sprinkling with crumbs. Spoon apple mixture along long end, and tuck in ends. With aid of towel, roll up. Place seam-side down on baking sheet, brush with butter. Make 12 slashes through top layers. Bake at 350F for 30-40 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Source: Lois Dowling
