2026-09-25 SQLite for Oddμ =========================== I made a new release of Oddμ. It now uses a SQLite database. The database tracks the following: * the pages, so that SQLite’s full text search can be used; * the hashtags, so that these no longer require all the data to be in memory; * the image descriptions, so that the alt texts can be highlighted separately; * the links, so that backlinks are easy to compute. Restarting it rebuilds the database but of course I also hope that there’s nothing to corrupt the database in the first place. Relevant manual pages: * oddmu-releases(7) * oddmu-search(7) * oddmu-index(7) #Oddμ 2026-09-29. I added the man pages of Oddauth. I'm pretty sure that's a tool for a very niche audience: People who use Oddmu, on OpenBSD, with relayd instead of a web server acting as reverse proxy. In this situation, you lack a configurable basic auth middleware. oddauth is that little program. My code is a fork of Aki's oddauth. 2026-10-01. There are still quite some problems with the SQLite based search. Many searches that seem natural to me now result in syntax errors. 2026-10-01. There are still quite some problems with the SQLite based search. Many searches that seem natural to me now result in syntax errors, such as search terms containing hyphens or periods.
