One unexpected (but eminently logical) consequence of the pandemic is
       the Vulcan salute is gaining traction as a greeting.
       
       I received my first such greeting in the wild last Thursday.
       
       Tainui Stephens of the Māoriland Film Festival recommended the salute
       'the mihi of Spock' as an alternative to hongi at the festival.
       
       It's also been encouraged in the US congress.
